GHaxLabs CS2 External - Complete Setup Guide

System Requirements

Before starting, make sure your system meets these requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit only)
  • GPU: DirectX 11 compatible graphics card (any modern GPU from the last 10 years)
  • RAM: 8GB minimum (16GB recommended)
  • Account: Windows Administrator account (required for driver installation)
  • Internet: Stable connection (the software maintains a server heartbeat)
  • Game: Counter-Strike 2 installed via Steam


IMPORTANT: You do NOT need to:
  • Enable Windows Test Mode
  • Disable Secure Boot
  • Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

The driver installs through Windows' standard driver framework. No BIOS changes needed.



Step 1 - Install Prerequisites

If you're on a fresh Windows install, you'll need a few things before the software will run properly.

1.1 - Visual C++ Redistributables

The launcher and the cheat require the latest Visual C++ runtime.

1. Open your web browser
2. Go to https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe (direct download link from Microsoft)
3. Run vc_redist.x64.exe
4. Click Install and wait for it to complete
5. If it says "already installed", you're good - close it

1.2 - DirectX Runtime

The overlay uses DirectX 11. Most Windows 10/11 systems already have this, but if you get D3D11 errors:

1. Download the DirectX End-User Runtime from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
2. Run dxwebsetup.exe
3. Follow the prompts and install

1.3 - .NET Framework 4.8+

Windows 10 (1903+) and Windows 11 ship with .NET 4.8 preinstalled. If for some reason you don't have it:

1. Open Settings > Apps > Optional Features > Add a feature
2. Search for .NET Framework and install it
3. Alternatively download from: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/net48

1.4 - Windows Updates

Make sure Windows is up to date. Driver installation depends on having current system components.

1. Open Settings > Windows Update
2. Click Check for updates
3. Install any pending updates and restart if prompted



Step 2 - Download the GHax Launcher

1. Log into your GHaxLabs account at https://ghaxlabs.root.sx
2. If you don't have an account yet, click Sign Up and verify your email
3. Go to Dashboard and attach your license key (paste the key you purchased and click Attach Key)
4. Once your license is attached, click Download Launcher from the Dashboard or the nav menu
5. Save GHaxLoaderClient.exe to a folder you'll remember (e.g., Desktop or C:\GHax)

Antivirus Note: Your antivirus may flag the launcher. This is normal for software of this type. You may need to:
  • Add an exclusion for the folder you saved the launcher to
  • If using Windows Defender: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Manage Settings > Exclusions > Add Exclusion
  • Add the folder path (e.g., C:\GHax)




Step 3 - Activate Your License

1. Right-click GHaxLoaderClient.exe and select Run as Administrator
2. The launcher will open with the GHaxLabs interface showing product cards (DayZ, CS2, Roblox)
3. In the license key field, paste your license key (format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
4. Click Login

What happens during activation:
  • Your hardware ID is collected and sent to the server
  • The server binds your license to your specific PC
  • You'll receive confirmation and the product buttons will light up based on what your license includes


WARNING: Your license is permanently bound to your hardware. If you change your PC or make significant hardware changes, you may need to contact support for a HWID reset.

If activation is successful, you'll see:
  • CS2 button enabled (if your license includes CS2)
  • License status showing Active
  • Expiration date displayed


Alternative - Account Login: If you already have a GHaxLabs web account linked to your license, click "Use Account Login" to switch to username/password login instead.



Step 4 - Install the Kernel Driver

This is a one-time setup. You only need to do this once (unless you reinstall Windows).

1. In the GHax Launcher, click the Install Driver button
2. A UAC prompt will appear asking for Administrator permission - click Yes
3. A command window will open and run the installation script
4. Wait for it to complete (usually 30-60 seconds)
5. You should see a message confirming the driver service was started

What gets installed:
  • The GHax kernel driver is installed as a Windows service
  • It installs through standard Windows methods - no reboot required
  • The service starts automatically after installation


If the driver doesn't seem to be working after installation, try restarting the launcher or rebooting your PC.



Step 5 - Install CS2 Maps

The CS2 cheat uses map data files for advanced features like visibility checks. This is a one-time download.

1. After logging in, click the Install CS2 Maps button (only visible if your license includes CS2)
2. A command window will open and download all required map files
3. Wait for the download to complete - progress is shown for each file
4. Press any key to close the window

What gets installed:
  • Map data files are saved to %APPDATA%\GHaxLabs\maps\
  • Files persist between sessions - you don't need to re-download them
  • If new maps are added in a future update, click the button again to download only the new files




Step 6 - Launch CS2 External

CS2 must be running before you launch the cheat. The cheat attaches to the running CS2 process.

Recommended order:

1. Open GHaxLoaderClient.exe as Administrator (if not already open)
2. Make sure you're logged in (license key entered and activated)
3. Start Counter-Strike 2 from Steam normally
4. Wait until you're at the CS2 main menu
5. In the GHax Launcher, click the CS2 game card

What happens when you click the CS2 card:
  • The launcher downloads your unique copy of the CS2 cheat from the server
  • The cheat is decrypted and launches automatically
  • The launcher closes on its own after the cheat starts
  • A console window titled "GHaxLabs - Kernel Only Edition" appears - do NOT close it


SUCCESS: You should now see the CS2 External overlay on top of your game. The cheat will connect to the kernel driver, scan for game offsets, and initialize the DirectX 11 overlay.

WARNING: Do NOT close the console window while playing. It maintains the heartbeat connection to the server. Closing it will terminate the cheat.



Step 7 - Using the Overlay Menu

7.1 - Opening the Menu

Press INSERT to toggle the in-game menu on/off.

When the menu is open, your mouse cursor becomes visible and you can interact with the settings. When closed, the overlay is transparent and only shows ESP/visual elements.


Troubleshooting / FAQ

"Integrity check failed" on login
  • The launcher has been modified or corrupted
  • Re-download the launcher from the GHaxLabs website
  • Make sure your antivirus hasn't quarantined or modified the file


"Your license does not include CS2"
  • Your license key may not have the CS2 product enabled
  • Check your license details on the Dashboard
  • Contact support or purchase a CS2-enabled license


"Your license is not active" or login fails
  • Your license may have expired - check the expiration date on the Dashboard
  • Your license may have been revoked - contact support
  • Make sure your internet connection is stable


Driver not installing
  • Make sure you clicked Yes on the UAC prompt
  • Run the installer as Administrator manually if the button doesn't work
  • Make sure Windows is fully updated
  • Try rebooting your PC and running the installer again
  • If it still fails, contact support on Discord


Overlay doesn't appear / black screen
  • Make sure CS2 is running in Fullscreen Windowed or Windowed mode (NOT exclusive fullscreen)
  • Go to CS2 Settings > Video > Display Mode > set to Fullscreen Windowed
  • Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date
  • Verify DirectX 11 is working: press Win+R, type dxdiag, check Display tab for DX11


Cheat closes shortly after launching
  • Check your internet connection - the cheat requires a stable connection
  • Make sure your firewall isn't blocking outbound HTTPS connections
  • If using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily
  • Your license may have expired or been revoked - check the Dashboard


"Virtual machine detected"
  • The software does not run inside virtual machines (VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • You must run it on bare-metal hardware
  • If you're NOT in a VM but getting this error: Disable Hyper-V by opening Command Prompt as Admin and running bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off then restart your PC
  • Also disable Windows Sandbox and "Virtual Machine Platform" in Windows Features if enabled


Antivirus keeps deleting the files
  • Add exclusion for your GHax folder
  • Add exclusion for %LOCALAPPDATA% (where temp binaries are created)
  • Windows Defender: Settings > Virus & Threat Protection > Exclusions
  • If using third-party AV (Kaspersky, Bitdefender, etc.), add process and folder exclusions


Game crashes after launching the cheat
  • Make sure you're running the latest version of CS2 (offsets update with game patches)
  • Re-download the cheat through the launcher (click the CS2 card again) to get the latest build
  • Verify CS2 game files through Steam: Right-click CS2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity
  • Close any other overlays (Discord overlay, GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner)


HWID changed / moved to new PC
  • If you changed your PC or made major hardware changes, your license may not activate
  • Contact support on Discord for a HWID reset




Quick Reference - Full Steps


1. Install Visual C++ Redistributable 2022 (x64)
2. Install DirectX Runtime (if needed)
3. Update Windows fully
4. Download GHaxLoaderClient.exe from website
5. Add antivirus exclusion for GHax folder + %LOCALAPPDATA%
6. Run launcher as Administrator
7. Enter license key and click Login
